I took a photo of this odd looking yellow beetle whilst on my honeymoon. Thoughts?? (constructive and kind please!!!)

That's an interesting looking insect :) I think the focus is slightly off, it seems to have focused on the lower edge of the leaf instead of the insect. I wasn't too sure about the out of focus foreground leaf, but it does kind of nicely frame the subject.

Its one of the many variants of Ladybird, isn't it?

Yes, you have slightly missed the focus, but shots of things this small are terribly difficult to get spot on. Keep practising!
