Southend-On-Sea Pier Lift

I've always like this little area at the bottom of the Southend high street, and noticed some nice symmetry with the lights today. Unfortunately the path/bridge comes out of one side, so it is not completely symmetrical, but I still like it.

I love architectural photography. The subject is excellent and the symmetry well caught. The lighting is a bit flat and even and something a bit more dramatic would be interesting, maybe artificial lighting would help. Do you have any other shots of this building?

Unfortunately it was a very grey, dull, windy day today, so that's probably why it's quite flat. There was virtually no detail in the sky at all which ruined a lot of the day's photos.

I don't have any other photos of the building except slight variations from the same position, nothing worth showing. The problem is you cannot walk the other side of it, so you have to stand either where this photo was taken, or on some steps just to the right. I decided this was the best angle to shoot it from, perhaps I can look again on Thursday in more detail. I had to pack up just after this was taken due to rain.

You got the angle to shoot from and lens choice absolutely on the button. Would love to see the same shot with "better" lighting. It's well worth persevering with and would be part of an excellent project.

I'll definitely go back another day when the weather/lighting is better. I go to college about a 2 minute walk away so I can go there almost every day and see what it's like if I wanted. I *think* there are lights around it at night, if there are I could take down my tripod and see how that works out.
