The 2nd linky is really interestign
thats crazy
Imagine buying a UV filter for that :D

These super telephoto lenses take drop in filters which fit at the rear of the lens - (48mm I think)
it was a joke ;)
A UV filter at the back wouldn't protect the front element (which is set plenty far back for it not to actually need one)
lol...imagine taking it out on your first shoot and dropping it.....:gag:

I think they usually come with protective glass on the front anyway. Just think you can stick a 2x converter on as well a photograph the moon full frame!

As much as I'd love a lens like that, you'd have to be stupid rich!
Maybe Stewart could buy it for Lensesforhire? ;)
I'd buy it if I win the euro millions on friday.

Buying from B& H, yes I have and have been impressed, it did help that I had an office in New York and got it all sent there and my wife picked it up for me when she went out there before Christmas.......quality and prices are very good and the staff are very knowledgeable and helpful.....To give you an idea on pricing....I want to get hold of the battery grip for my d80.....over here cheapest I have found for the Nikon one is 130 GBP ....there 134 USD (75 GBP)....
Im not sure they ship to the UK....
I'd be happy to take delivery of it here in the states if someone wants to get it. I could then give it to them next time I'm back in the UK. Honest...

And with Zeiss being in bed with Sony these days, I'm expecting it to be available in A-mount any day now.
Might be reasonably priced too if they can keep the sony badge off it. :p

That Canon lens is just amazing, the cropped shots in particular were mind blowing.
Im not sure they ship to the UK....
Well if they didn't i'm sure the buyer could be persuaded to go over personally to pick it up.
And that'll be me next week, when the cheque clears... I wish..:(

Maybe Stewart could buy it for Lensesforhire? ;)Ha ha. We thought of that! (http://www.LENSESFORHIRE.co.uk/canon-ef-1200mm-f56-l-usm-3-p.asp) Though I'm not convinced how much demand for it there would be, at around £2,500 per week?
I was just about to tick the box PAY and I realised its a Bl***y Canon Fit
Err guys its used too, not even NEW for that price wonder how it handles with a 2xtc fitted!
