View Full Version : Has anyone actually photographed a ghosty

I did once, but very annoyingly this little horsey thing with a spike on its head came along and stole the only copy i had.
Of course, i gave chase on my flying carpet, but the little beggar was just too quick. Sadly, it didn't matter how hard i polished my magic lamp  Very, very annoying.
I'm sure it will work out ok though as i've been slowly acquiring a mercenary army of goblins to track him down and boy, I'll be miffed with him when they bring him back!!

lmao your funny
I only ask because in Blackpool tower ball room there are two photographs with ghosts really visible in them, the first has a man dressed in old clothes stood by a pillar, and a lady dressed in old clothes sat down watching the ballroom floor, in the second photo there is a blurry figure in the old restaurant, nothing else in the whole photo is blurred, and take into account these where taken before people could manipulate photos.

Its always been possible to manipulate photos - this is not new to the digital age. I'm not familiar with the blackpool photos, but there are several incidents of double exposure giving very odd results......
Well these are very strange ones you should go have a look. And also it also backs up what people have seen in there when the tower is shut while iIwas there before I knew of the photos I heard odd noises and saw weird stuff and wouldnt go in there by myself (the ballroom)
Have you a link to these photos?
They arent online, they are in the tower ballroom, lol
Was expecting a thread full of pics of dust specks :D
"LOOK! A PICTURE OF AN ORB!!!! OMG!!!!" :D
Nope but next time youre in the tower take a look, they arent specks they are almost clear images.

Also taken in York Minster :)
No ghosts, but I can do you a nice fairy story, involving none other than Arthur Conan Doyle, who believed in them... :D

Was there a dead ghost underneath it? My neighbour says she has photos of a ghost that lives in her spare bedroom. She's yet to show them to me though.

Hmmm nice thread..... where are all the orbs???? :cuckoo:
Photo manipulation has dated back to the birth of photography. One guy scratched out a forest into the negative as I recall from my college lectures back in the day...
There are no ghost Ash... sorry mate....
Oh and... brace yourself.... There......
.... is.....
....no...
santa!! :bonk:
There is no evidence to say there is not any ghosts, just like there is none to prove is. and santa isnt dead, cos I heard him on the radio :P 42

Can't believe I asked for serious answers. Skip that bit if you want.
This shot was taken in the Parish Churchyard Warrington a few years back, and I know my photography was rubbish back then.
http://www.amandanorman.com/images/rams-head-3-small.jpg
On the left of the above image, it looks like two men are peeping over the tomb and this image isn't a fake. Below I've cropped it so that you can see where I mean..
http://www.amandanorman.com/images/rams-head-3-faces.jpg
Now I do have a theory as to what made it look like ghosts.
There's a massive weed that towers above the tombs, and on the tomb behind this weed, the face of it is a sandy colour and the text is engraved into the stone work, so the text is a dark colour. The text makes up the eyes of the two faces, and the weed splits it so that it looks like two heads, if that makes sense?

I have no photo's to share that can't be explained "any other way" ( Orbs and stuff)
But having been on a few "ghost busting" investigations, having had motion sensors tripped in locked rooms with no air flow,
IR video cameras triggered, with pretty poor images of static, and a few "other things", ........do Ghosts exist?
I can honestly say without a shadow :D of a doubt, I don't know
Oh and BTW I can handle the ridicule thats about to follow so

No such thing, have you noticed that you no longer see UFO or ghost pictures any more. That's because the EXIF data on digital cameras tell so much info about the picture, that it's hard to make fakes now.

While i cant prove whether or not ghosts exist (they dont though) i can offer an insite into faking a ghost photo without the use of photoshop. Using a pound shop disposable camera take a fairly normal snapshot of a friend or some spooky looking room in an old house then get the film developed, next you then mount your shot to a wall and then with another camera `copy` the photo but at a slight angle with your acomplice reflected in the original photo giving you a ghostly figure on a photo that because it isnt digital must therefore be real. Here`s a diagram of what i`m talking about:
http://img255.imageshack.us/img255/2333/33233520fs0.jpg (http://imageshack.us)
Seriously though, saying that because i dont have evidence that ghosts dont exist is is reason enough to believe that they `do` exist is about as convincing as the argument between science and religion.

I love this thread! Ghosts, Religion, Science, Sir ACD and Bergerac! Great!
I can see the point in "I have no proof that God exists. I have no proof that He doesn't. So on the whole I believe it wiser to act as though He does." But what's the point in believing in ghosts? They're (supposedly) just dead PEOPLE!
Fairies are a diiferent matter - my (soon to be 5yo) daughter says she WANTS fairies to be real so they DO exist and as she's usually right about things I believe her! :)

Did you use flash? I have seen flash do that sort of thing when it reflects back off somthing floating in the air. Wind blow seed or insec ts even. You wouldn't normally notice them with the naked eye but the reflected light would show up. Try firing a flash when it is raining and you will catch the rain drops as bright blobs/orbs.

Where are you looking ? If its the top left of the piano, all I see is some leaves from the plant and the saucer its stood in, against a reflection on the wood panelling from the window.

Right at the top of the stairs...

That could be anything, it doesnt even resemble a figure of any sorts.
My best guess would be more light reflecting off the surface of the wall as there must be another window in a similar place to the one downstairs. The whispy shape is simply created by the shape of the spindles on the staircase.
The mind is wonderful at playing tricks on you ! ;)
:) My first thought was that it was a towel hanging from the bannister

Its is very difficult to say its either this or that.
I dont actualy know what it is, but its not a reflection of light from one of the windows, as we have looked over the scene many times to try to answer the question.
Here is a tight crop which if you examine between the spindles is a possible leg and on the right hand spindle a possible hand. you also see a slight amount of possible torso above the banister.
The strange thing which could show its not at light reflection is where if it was a figure its feet show depth and shadows which couldnt come from a reflection of light.
Im not saying it is.. im just saying I dont know what it is..
