I went for a walk with casey and nancy today, and forgot to switch the white balance to daylight from Tungsten, so the colours came out dodgy. I thought I would try and convert to B&W, the first time I have tried. In photoshop, I did adjustement > B&W, then twiddled with the colour sliders till i liked what I saw. Not very scientific, but hey, its a start. Are there better ways of converting to B&W? C&C appreciated :naughty:

did you shoot raw or jpg ? if raw you can change the WB easily, can still be done on jpg but isnt quite so straight forward.

They look great shots, but not sure B&W suits them

I shot in Jpeg, for a reason that you may be able to help me with. When I load the files from the camera to the pc, jpeg files show up with a small thumbnail preview, whilst Raw files dont have a preview. And when i dump them into photoshop, i get more options to chose which i dont understand. Is there a way to make Raw files as simple as jpeg?
