Another day, another trip to the lake. Well, it is only a 15 minute drive away. :)
I suspect I will be taking a lot of shots of this view, throughout the seasons. It's a cliche and probably one of the most photographed views in the Lakes, but it's easy to see why. Possibly a bit too blue?

Nicely composed shot of a bit of a Lake District "icon". It's well worth a revisit perhaps in slightly softer lighting ?

The water looks lovely! If slightly chilly!
Great shot!
Nice image = the white thing ? distracts me though.
I drove past there on Sunday and there was a couple sat on the end of the jetty with a bottle of wine enjoying a glorious afternoon.
Looked as good as your picture there. Although I might be tempted to crop down to the little tree in the middle. :)

I am inteding to re-visit throughout the seasons, so hoping to get many more shots in many different lights. The lighting has been particularly harsh over the past couple of weeks, perhaps that's just me spending too much time in bed!
The white rotor blade on the roof is a bit distracting, I might have a bash at getting rid of that, when I have bought photoshop elements or something similar.

I spent some time in the Lake District last week and had a drive around Ullswater, didnt see the Boat house though..
Its a lovely shot, the light is as harsh as it was last week, lovely weather but too hazy.. you've done well, the comp is good, its not wonky.. lol.. and the exposure is very nice..
Id like to see that image taken on an overcast day Stormy even... in a B&W conversion...
Excellent....

It's at the northern end of the lake, just out of Pooley Bridge. You can park in PB and walk down to it, or there's a layby opposite the boathouse itself, very handy.
The light is very harsh and very unusual for this neck of the woods. I have lived here for 7 years and can't remember a week like this, especially in February. Back to the usual grey murky stuff today though, so overcast and stormy could be next. Not sure I would convert to B&W, I don't really see the point in landscapes. But then, I am a noob so what do I know. :)

Really like the comp on this. The boat house is a big favourite of mine, and I take the kids to feed the ducks just so I can get some shots of it as often as possible.
Its been a great week, but the fog finally rolled in today as you say. Its strange not having much snow on the tops at the moment, but maybe soon.
Keep them coming :)

Love this boat house every time i go up to Ullswater. Never photographed it yet though.
I like it; strong light really puts emphasis on the wood on the front of the building.
Personally, I'd put a layer mask on it in PS with a black-to-transparent gradient to give the sky a polarised look. Not too heavy mind, but it would help put some interest in the sky. Otherwise, why not crop it tighly across? Would look good
