Nice shots but try a little bit of sharpening to bring out the craters.
Did you try taking it from different sides?

No why?
I tried tonight as well, the moon at the time was partially obscured by haze/cloud so it's a bit grainy but I'm not too unhappy with it.(hand held sigma 50-500@500 1/400th f8)

Quick question for you Steep. It states the person who took this is Tom Wright but he doesn't own the camera anymore. How do I chance it to me?
To me first one`s the sharper of the two very nice

That's excellent!
Re changing the name of the cameras owner, If I remember correctly you have to connect the camera to the PC and use Canons software to change it, the instructions on how to do it should be in the manual.

What settings are you using? Are you shooting on a tripod? I did use a remote shutter release on mine. That might help.
When you say they aren't good what wrong with them?

The last time i tried i used a tripod with a canon 20D, Sigma 100-300 F4 lens at F8 and a shutter speed of 250th sec. Just couldnt ever get a nice sharp image, dont know why.
