London - got over the flower addiction (nearly ;))

Just a couple from my trip yesterday to foggy old London - it did try and brighten up later just when we were leaving!!

Not really sure about the first one, could do with more room at the top, but quite pleased with the second one (I know it's been photographed to death - but it's my first time! :p):)

Love 'em both - it doesn't matter whether a subject has been photographed a lot, it's about how you do it!

Fine work there!

Cheers,
James

Love 'em both! The St Pauls one is my fav of the two the inclusion of the people give the shot some dynamism.

If I'd change anything it woul be a slight rotation of the first one to manage the vanishing point a bit better!!!

Foggy London eh? Did you bump into Sherlock Holmes?

Hello there m'lady,

I'm not sure what camera you're using but my D200 allows me to have a grid up in the view-finder as to enable me to get my verticals and horizontals better aligned, maybe there is a function in yours too?

Just a thought, nice piccies btw.

Nice one (or two) The second shot was used recently in the New Ashes to Ashes series and works well with the misty backround.
BTW Happy Birthday for yesterday. 21 again?

Hope you dont mind Donna - had a little fiddle. Lost some detail and introduced artifacts as the jpeg is too small to make a decent fist of it (my excuse and its a good one!)

You know what they say about London, if once your bored, your bored with life...

So it looks like your stuck with that addiction obsession forever. ;) :D

Really like your first shot, not seen that view like that ever.

TY everyone for commenting - they really are much appreciated.

Jonny - good edit, certainly does look more upright! Just annoyed with myself, I seem to rush shots rather than really taking my time and thinking more about it - like not leaving enough room at the top - ok, so I would have been in the middle of the road and probably knocked down by a bus - but at least the shot would've been better!:D

Krazyhorse - I use a Canon 400D, don't think there's a grid facility on there - I'll investigate

Retro - thanks for the birthday wish :)

Thanks John - no didn't bump into Holmes, just a lot of other people, must look where I'm going :p

Thanks Adam - This photography lark has re-ignited my love for London - I used to frequent it quite a bit years ago, then life took over but I've really enjoyed my recent visits and I think your statement is probably true.:)

Thats the spirit

Not sure if you use PT lens, but i edited with lens distort (CS3) to skew and then PT lens (e-paperpress CS3 plug-in / standalone)to de-fish a little (just enough to remove the pin-cushion effect that either the lens or the skew introduced (and not enough to make it perfect!)

Thanks for that

I've just got Paint Shop Pro X, it's got barrel, fisheye and pincushion correction so maybe I'll have a go with that and completely ruin it! :D

There you go - everything you need for when those damn roads get in the way ;)
