My first PSP effort

Hi all,

My first effort with PSP using only the basic commands -
This originally had a lot of unwanted background stuff which i've tried to get rid of.
Personally I'm quite happy with it for a first attempt but would appreciate any c&c from you guys.

You've certainly blurred the background but unfortunately it's encroached onto the subject. As a result it detracts from the image and for me spoils it.

What tools did you use? It may be there's another way to do this without quite so much effect on the lads face.

I agree with dod, you've gone too far and blurred his face :(

Right hand side of face, his left, is OK but the other side has encrouched as mentioned above. If at first.

Yeh have another go, and dont forget to show us your 2nd attempt. But I would say don't use so much blurring, I think you went a little OTT and also blurred his face at the same time. Don't worry though, it is normal on first attempts, when you first start using photo editing software and you find a nice tutorial, we all usually go OTT with the first attempt.

I don't use PSP but it must have a magnetic lasso tool, it will be more accurate with selecting areas of the photo that you want blurring, sharpening or whatever you wanna do.

There's also a good tutorial on this forum for sharpening the eyes. If you do a search including these keywords: 'eyes pop' then you should find it.

Thanks for the constructive comments guys, all are noted and i will post another attempt as soon as time allows.
