Just a shot to show the colourful patterns on the back of the waxwing. I understand that this bird has now left the area it's been in for the past 3 weeks which is a bit sad as I would have liked to have got another chance of a few more shots. Hope you like.

Thanks Gibbo and Stuart. I think I was rather lucky to have such good light during the time I took all these waxwing shots.

Wow. It would be even better if you could see the detail of the feathers or something. But great shot and beautiful colours.

Thanks James and Jo. Jo, I don't think that waxwings show such great feather detail as other birds due to the soft silky plumage of these birds, at least in most pictures and books I have seen, this tends to be the case. Examples below.
