Did my first photography related jobby this weekend! An old friend is setting up a website so she can sell some homemade cards etc and she wanted some pictures to use for advertising them :)

Didnt take me too long, had about 67 cards in total. Used a softbox and a couple of lights etc, had my own little studio in the conservatory :D Anyhow, she liked them and I have come away with a bunch of other cards etc and this.....

There's an easy answer to this, let her get engaged, and with your new lens tell her you are willing to take the photographs of her and her the chap she gets engaged to. ;)
