A few shots of Michael Schenker in Glasgow on Friday night!

Complete sell-out despite the Scottish media advertising the gig as 22nd March!

Pity about the flash shadow in the first one. That sort of ruins it TBH. I feel able to say that because I think the 2nd one is a cracker - much better exposed and the eye contact's great. The live shots are cool too - but noisy (as I'm sure you know). Gig photography isn't easy and you've done well there. Maybe, given the noise, a gritty B&W conversion on the live ones may add some drama.

(I remember seeing the Scorpions when I was at school - great night - and then buying the LP with "that (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Scorpions-album-lovedrive.jpg)" photo on the cover)

I don't think the flash shadow really ruins anything! It's just a quick backstage shot before the man went onstage, hardly a studio shot with controllable lighting.

The background or the shadow won't be in any of the finished shots anyway!

As for the live shots, in a tiny venue that holds a couple of hundred with next to no lighting you've got to shoot what you can when you can - even if it means shooting at 1/30th at F4 at 1600asa.

Noise (or grain in the old days) is unfortunately a fact of live gig photography unless you're shooting from the pit at a huge gig.

Thanks Carl

These are Michael's first gigs since his abysmal appearances with the Scorpions last year. Now 6 months out of rehab he's back on top form!

These gigs, which were billed as Michael Schenker & Friends, are warm-ups for the forthcoming MSG tour which will feature Gary Barden (Vocals), Chris Glen (Bass) and Simon Phillips (Drums). New album is out at the moment!

I don't think MSG will venture North of the border but they certainly have some English dates planned (some with the Scorpions).
