Wow, that was busy...

However, I'm chuffed to bits with the camera - the weather is totally shocking, naff, horrible light and the high ISO performance is really being tested.

No point taking photos of anything outside as it's really grim, but I've just been snapping away to get some test shots and so far I am VERY pleased.

I ended up with a 5D + 24-105 IS pack. I wasn't convinced about the lens, but figure it'll be a useful carryaround for the USA trip, although I feel the urge to go wider and enjoy that full-frame goodness!

Focus was hectic, and I already sense much of the exhibition staff getting tired and tetchy...

That said, I got a great deal (and cashback, wahey!) so I'm very happy indeed.

Cheers,
James

24-105 is a fantastic walkabout lens on a full frame body :)

I'm thinking 17-40 as it's cheaper, but the 24-105 is going to have to pay its way first!!

Cheers,
James

I was thinking of going for the 24-105 but went for the 17-40 instead becuase it's wider. And cheaper as you already said.

Congrats on the 5D...awesome camera.

we bought ....5D, 24-105,100-400, belwoods camera rotator, cold laminator ,remote trigger, filters, and a radio trigger for studio flash.(Interfit cheapy at £35).
we went with the intention of buying a 5D two lens kit, and were realy chuffed at such a huge show dicount AND cashback. that left us enough for the laminator that swmbo fancied.we saved over £550 with the cashback compared to the cheapest i,d found em so far.
and we even got the laminator at £450 instead of £600 + vat.
all in, a realy good day for bargains. i,m glad we waited for the show.
busy today so non of its been used yet . just got out of the boxes , and sniffed a bit.:D
oh. previous price from jacobs £2780. show price £2550+ £270 canon cashback.
