Still life experiment

Hi all,

just trying to improve upon my still life shots and get some practice with long exposures and this is what I ended up with. Would really appreciate comments and feedback.

I quite like it, I rekon that the bottle blending into the background will annoy a few. The highlight at the top of the bottle is a bit annoying. Did you try it with a different background?

Thanks for the comments :) I was actually specifically going for the bottle blending into the background guess that is very much a subjective preference and can understand how some people might feel that it is a flaw in the shot....

Kinda the same on the highlights at the top of the bottle really, as it is quite dark I thought I would leave them in to balance things out.... I may be totally misguided in this though :D I've not tried it on any other background as yet because I specifically wanted the fading into background effect that I mentioned... I did consider doing a version where the colour of the whiskey is retained though?

I like what your trying to do here Mike. The lower left of the bottle blends in well, but the upper part doesn't and has a few reflections. I suppose it's trial and error with the lighting, but keep at it as it would be a great shot if you could pull it off.
