Hello

Took these yesterday not sure if they are marco in the true sense but best i can get for now.

Got some extension tubes on order, hopefully get some better ones.

Both pics taken with a 40d (still getting used to it, massive difference for 300d lol) and a Jupiter 9 manual lens 85/2, all hand held. It seems the jupiter9 is a bit soft wide open but didnt have the light to stop down with out a tripod :(

anyone else use manual lenses for macro?

Edit: oops didnt see the size limit :) is that ok???

Well for hand-held you did a good job I'd say;)

Prefer #2 as the horizontal twig in #1 distracts a bit:'(

Really like the bokeh in both, but number 2 is the one for me :)

Hi! :welcome:

I would crop the first one to remove the twigs, I like the second one, narrow depth of field!

cheers folks,

just invested in a decent tripod and some extension tubes, so hopefully be able to gve it a proper go shortly. Ill try cropping the first a bit more :)

yeah the jupiter 9 gives lovely bokeh, almost circular 15 blade aperature :) will have to play about with it though and see where it sharpens up. ill give it a proper go when the new gear arrives.
