For taking a large group shot from the air? I mean my 28-70mm?

I'll be about 8-10 metres in cherry picker looking down on anthing between 60-100 people standing in painted letters

If it's not - what would you recommend?

Kel,

Try figuring it out from this link I posted last year....you just need to know how broad shouldered the bods are.

Ooooo -thanks very much Bob. Will have to sit and work that out then.

Going to have to plan how wide we want the letters and how many people wide in each leg of the letter.

This is what it would hopefully be like.....

(where the little round circles are people) :lol: very crude diagram but done very quickly

Kel,

My quick bit of maths says you're going to need something between 12-15mm unless you get a taller cherry picker.

Thats a great guide CB. Have been wondering what sort of lenses I'll need and now I can work it out!

Superb Bob. :thumbs::thumbs:

I've picked up more daft techy nerdy stuff about cameras and printing over the years than I ever really need but not that.

Brilliant. Ta.

Reading back on this - where I have I suddenly got a 28-70 from :lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

Twit!

Dan and I have worked out that my 18-50 will be okay. Going to have a trial run in a couple of weeks (ie, laying lots of paper and measuring doodahs down) and seeing how we go.

Don't suppose anyone wants to come along and help with the main event?? :lol:
