30d focus screen [Archive] - Talk Photography

Anyone know which focus screen the 30D uses as mine needs replacing (had the camera cleaned today) at Black n White in Bristol. Guy recommended to replace as screen has some marks. Need to know what the Canon code is and what other canon ones would fit ok

If you're looking for the standard screen I believe that this is it....... Canon Part#: YN2-3579

I've just replaced mine with KatzEyes split prism for more accurate MF with macro shots. Ideally I'd like to hang on to the old one but PM me if you get stuck.

Thanks Bob for the part number I have been offered a ED focussing screen and I am not sure if it will fit spent best part of two hours trying to find out if it would fit.

Looks like a 30d focusing screen is a rare beast have rung several dealers and still no sign of a replacement screen:'(

Spent several hours last night look on he net and cannot find a relevant code cant tell if its a EC ED ED-O etc etc code Canon clearly want to keep the focus screen on the 30D a mystery:eek:

That is spooky Bob its as though I wrote that post!!! They are right you can carry on shooting but everytime I raise the viewfinder up I go aagh, annd its a case of its more annoying than anything else
