350D Pop-up flash doesn't pop up, free fix.

My 350D pop up flash stopped popping up a while ago. All I was getting was three nasty sounding clicks and then 'err 99'. I finally got fed up with sticking my fingernail under it and took it apart :eek:.

It was a simple fix and saved me traipsing all the way to Istanbul or Ankara to have it looked at.

I wrote a guide with pictures to show how to do it so if anybody else has the problem and wants a copy of it email me at chesher_chris(at)yahoo.co.uk and I'll send you the Word file. It will probably do for the 400D too.

i had the oposite issue with my 400d.

randomly my flash would pop up when I was in blistering sunshine

took it back to jessops and they swapped that bad boy out

God yes.... Id hate to have to traipse all the way to Istanbul or Ankara........ your fix is much cheaper!! ;) :D


Had it happen to my 350d a while back... and Pete Mc told me how to remove the hotshoe plate and reassemble.. worked a treat!! :thumbs:
