Bug id please

I found this bug wandering around at the weekend, and it looked a bit more interesting than most that I find, just not sure what it is! Its about 1/2" long and moves quite fast!

Any ideas what it is please?

Colours a bit difficult to determine but I would say it is a Parent Bug (Elasmucha grisea). Nice find Susie, shame the sun was so bright. :thumbs:

:thinking: it looked a bit darker than that on my laptop but not a huge amount, I prefer the colours on this screen as it looks prettier!

Thanks for the id, I've just looked it up and found some pictures, you got it right I just hope it had not intended to breed as I have cleared the area it was living in!

Agree with Parent Bug(Motherly Shield bug), come in 2 colours, red/brown and grey Lgth 6 to 8mm
