Thanks for the comments.
Re: the rind. Not sure. Probably due to the fact the light source is underneath the orange? I did dodge the white fleshy bit, as it was quite dark, as the light obviously didn't go thru it.

Nice shot.
I don't see a problem with the dark rind.

Really like this shot! Good composition, and strong colours.
Was this taken on a white background? Or photoshopped onto one?

Liking that Torpedo
Shall have another go myself when I can, didn't think of removing the background in the one I did:bang:

How did you light this out of interest?

Hi birdy. There's some info, if you click thru to my flickr account.

Basically it's lit from underneath with a desklamp. Shot thru a glass tumbler. A lot easier if you had a light box, or even just a glass table. If not you'll have to improvise, like i had to. :)

Been having a browse through your Flickr, see what you mean.
Shall have to have a play and see what I can get up to, shall have to improvise:lol:
Still, its good fun trying eh, the one I entered in the comp was the best out of approx 50 shots, gotta love digital

<---- total beginner and I like that shot, the only thing that I would consider altering would be maybe a very pale blue background to really give the sunshine effect and contrast with the yellow.

I hope I get that good sometime soon :)

Gary :)
