burn in some drama in the sky and i think the B&W would be the pick of the two.
dave
b&w for me. :)
the colour shot is actually too interesting in the foreground and my eye never quite gets released up to the pier.

It's very photogenic isn't it :)
I'd plump for the colour because of the warmth it gives to the scene.
Cracking shot-either way.

Hey :p They are both beautiful but I prefer coloured one cos I love the colours on the pebbles.Having said that the mono one is gorgeous too. So as with everything else, there is no conclusion, just brilliance   :bonk:

Cheers dave :) I will give that a try and see what it comes out like.
b&w for me. :)

Good point, never thought of it like that lol

Thanks Del, it was nice when I was driving to Saltburn, got there and it turned a bit dull and started spitting a bit lol its only 5mins drive so planning to get a decent night shoot when theres a starry night :)
Great shot  I can't choose between the two they are both as good as each other.
at the moment the colour one wins it for me. the shot just feels more balanced cos the sky has more drama.
the black and white one just holds my attention on the rocks in the foreground, a bit more contrast would bring the sky into balance with the foreground.
lovely shots though.

I wish I was only 5mins away Ian - I think I need to move to the coast...or near it.
Here's one i got when it was all lit up....and I also have what I class as a "High Key" Version which meant delly forgot her ISO was at 400 :D Ooopsssssssss
As you can see the weather wasnt cracking, and they turn the lights on about half 5-ish, or probably later as the evenings are getitng lighter....so 30sec exposures I was using. :)

Colour one for me. The colours on the pebbles are lovely. Really nice shot. Saltburn is just down the road for me, I should give it a go some time.

Colour one for me, great shot
The colour one for me, the delicate colours are lovely.
i like the colours on the pebbles, but then it draws interest away from the pier itself. the B+W doesn't really do it for me though.
Still, it's a different take on a popular subject.

Colour for my TBH, great picture =]
Colour for me too, just feel the mono shot, could do with just a small(very small) tweak of contrast.
I like both. Brings back memories for me :)

I will plumb for the colour as it has some comforting tones which adds to the scene. The lack of drama in the B&W makes it less engaging but no less good technically.

well I would have to say the colour version too, has a soft quality to the lighting and the colours add interest which the B&W version doesn't have
simon
I prefer the sublety of the colour

colour shot for me, although they both nice
Its the colour version for me Ian the warm tones in the pebbles is superb. I am up that way for a break for 3 days starting tomorrow so hope to grab one of two of the area myself.
