Hi, off to Margarita - a small island off the coast of Venezuela - on Sunday, has anyone been and got any advice regarding photo opportunities?

Taking my D200, 18-200 and nifty fifty. Hoping to get some candid shots and also some landscapes. Planning a trip to Angel falls (the highest waterfall in the world) although I am not sure that 18mm will be wide enough:shrug::shrug:

Any advice greatfully received.

TIA

Alan

went there on my honeymoon 5yrs ago...stayed in both Venezuela and Margarita for just over 2wks. Some of my pics are in my gallery here: honeymoon pics (http://www.krhome.com/krblogcm/index.php?cat=8)

they might give you a bit of a flavour of what to expect...when I went I was only just starting with photography and they were all taken on a Powershot A70 so some aren't that good!

I went there in 1996, i have to say i did,ent particularly like the place, seemed to stay in the complex most of the time as it was all inclusive, also i was,ent heavily into photography at the time, never got to see angel falls as it was to overcast to fly over them at the time, apparently you need a clear day, i would, ent be in a hurry to go back there.

Thanks for the link kfridge, looks like you had a great honeymoon!! My wife is going to be using my Sony P&S and I expect she will come back with some better shots than me :bonk::D

Sorry you didn't have a particularly good experience tel48, I don't know if things will have improved since you went, however heres hoping:)

Anyone got any experience of shooting very high waterfalls? Any advice greatfully received.
