Image transfer problem

Hi not sure if this is the right place, moderators please feel free to move it. I have been trying to install the casio photo software on to my computer so i can transfer pictures off my camera, the problem being it wont install apparently due to me not running xp but i use vista so it should work? And i doesn't seem ot register the camera as a usb storage device.
Any:help: please?

Can you right-click on the installer (.exe) file, then select the Compatibility tab, and tick the "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" option, then choose Windows XP?

if your using photo loader it says it dosen't work with vista see here http://world.casio.com/qv/download/en/pl301_win/.
dosen't vista try to import them into the photo gallery? it does on mine
