Really like the way the late sun brings out the warm colours of the buildings.
You did well not to have people in the shot at this time of day too!

:agree: With everyone, lovely colours, and so calm!

I do find the pole on the LHS a bit distracting from the rest of the scene, but not enough to ruin the photo

Can only agree with what everyone else has said. Lovely warm colours and a fantastic scene.

Thanks all. I thought long and hard about removing the pole on the RHS but it leaves the foreground a bit empty. Thanks for all your comments

 Postcard material.

Agree. Great warm tones and a surprise to see sweet FA in the way of tourist - really like the line it it, from the curve of the bridge and the perspective of the canalside, to the jaunty mooring posts that draw your eye in. Nice

is this HDR'd at all?

Ted
18-03-2008, 22:32
Not HDR'd Han but have tried to emphasise the light using a similar process (trying to keep shadow detail).

Thanks specialman. I know you might not have meant 'postcard material' literally, but My mate has got some true postcard images from the trip and we were wondering if anyone has ever sent images away to postcard people before? Would you need more than just a one off shot? obviously dont care about getting dosh for it but would be nice to have your images on the shelves of Venice somewhere.
