View Full Version : A few shots from my garden
Just a few pics that I took the other day.
I am very new to this forum, and to digital art for that matter.
None of the below photos have been touched up or edited in any way.
Any comments would be welcome.

I do like that first shot, it looks lovely.
Hi zarazinia,
Thanks for the comments.
Yer I love the first one, the single dew drop makes it a stunning shot.

Hi and welcome!
Number one for me, very sharp, although I feel that its a bit tight on the crop as top and bottom is cut off.
However number 2 is slighty soft as I think your DOF maybe be a little narrow? Number 3 is nice but maybe needs a crop?
You'll always get good honest feedback here :) Number One is a cracker!
SB
Thanks for the advice shrimperblue.

Welcome to the forum - No 1 for me
another vote for #1!
I think they'd all have more impact with some post capture work done to them. If only to brighten and sharpen them a touch.
It's also an idea to keep your eye on the background as well as the subject. The less cluttered the better, especially with flower portraits as they're often quite busy themselves.

No 1 for me too, love flowers! :D
Hi,
Thanks very much for the comments all.
This is a great community
I find #1 and #3 have too many distractions and not so keen on the light in the first, but I think the second is nice and would have been even better with the focus on the err, long pointy things whatever they are :D
no1 for me nice set:wave:
Hello fellow newbie...
I have to agree with previous comments, No.1 is a great shot although the crop is a little tight, would be much better if the whole of the flower was in the image or alternatively go for a really tight crop and focus on the detail and texture filling the whole image? All images would definitely benefit from some post production if only to adjust the levels, contrast and saturation but overall a top effort!
No 1 works for me. No 2 would have been better if the focus had been on the flowers stamens. :)
