Went upto the Lake district yesterday with a couple of people from our camera club with their fancy wide angles [sob] So I didnt take many shots with my 18mm end as I couldnt either get everything into one shot without making it a panoramic - or anything lol.
Anyway! I just loved being up there so I werent overly bothered if I didnt get 10,000 gorgeous pictures.
But here are a few from yesterday.

I am waiting to try some HDR software [shock horror gasp] but I havent got it yet - and its not photomatrix its something else that gives great results [apparently] so these have just had basic processings in CS3 :)

I'm not sure about 10,000 gorgeous pics but I think you have 5 fantastic shots here. Can't pick out one I prefer they're all good. Great compositions and fresh, natural colours in 5 crisp clean images :thumbs:

Nice pics. Did you try any at sunrise, might have got that nice glassy look to the water if there was no wind?

(Not that I have ever been know to get up before sunrise to take any pictures!)

They're all lovely pictures and don't need any more processing. They're fine as they are.

The compositions are the thing I struggled on whilst I was there. The boots that I had on didnt like being too wet/muddy....so whilst the blokes in their wellies [I have problems getting wellies] were getting muddy...I wasnt! And to get the shots "like theirs" Id have had to go for a swim too!

Very Very nice!

I like these.

Thank you!

Lovely clean images. Glad you had a great Easter!

:) It would have been nicer had it been less windy.....and after that gorgeous sun to start with - we ended up with some right snow showers!

None taken at sunrise, I live an almost 3hour drive away....so that would have meant setting off at 2:30am!

Like number 1 in particular - very nice all of them imo

Thank you very much :)

Cheers Lee, yeah I really am liking the Nikon!!!
And learnt a valuable lesson yesterday as why lens hoods are the best thing in the world! Someones camera [pentax user] toppled over. Cracked his lens hood...but the lens was fine!!

And tut at you not telling me it was for sale!!!:nono::nono:

They're all lovely pictures and don't need any more processing. They're fine as they are.

Thank you!
I still want to try th HDR stuff, subtly, just to see how much difference it makes.

You and me both! Only one or two pics of hills, but nothing like these. My problem is I hate paying for parking in the lakes.

Really nice set, some lovely colours, don't the fells look great with snow on.

Lake Derwent from the lakeside parking in Keswick! How do I know this? Because I've just got back from three days in the lakes with my other half and a crazy whippet in our camper van. It's a brilliant base for photography, (not that my photography is brilliant lol)

I'll try to process mine in the next few days and get them up here too. I really like yours though, can I swop? ;)

As said nice clean crisp shots. The only slight crit I'd have is the horizon is a bit central in them but cool pics all the same;)

I am truely overwhelmed at the response. The guys I were with were asking if I was "uninspired" with my camera when it comes to landscapes so I were feeling a little downtrodden when i got home and wondered if they were good enough. But you guys have totally made me think "what do they know" [alot actually] but just want to say thanks for the comments.

1,2 & 4 for me cracking shots

Number 4 is my mums favourite image. I was unsure when i was taking it, but I do really like it the more I look at it. No 2, I was just disappointed I couldnt get in the point at which the clouds met on the horizon to givee you a full triangle of clouds.

An excellent set Dell, I like them all.

Thanks Mark!

I was using Nikon D200 and 18-70 Lens. I was shooting handheld,[apart from one] around f8-f22 all day. The first one is f22 at ISO 100 at 1/25th of a second on my tripod. The water was slightly rippling and so I wanted to try and smooth it by dropping the shutter speed. If ONLY Id have had a grad.

Really nice set, some lovely colours, don't the fells look great with snow on.
The fells looked lovely with snow on them. We parked in three different carparks and It must have come to about £5 - £1.50 for 2hours at the derwent water carpark was enough time for what we wanted to do down there [where these pics are from]d

I think theres two different ways you can park to be "lakeside" in keswick. Looking forward to seeing some of your pictures - and no you cant swop :)

Thanks.....:) You should go - just check weather forcast first. :D

Stunning, young lady !

Thanks Steve.

Thanks Brash - I know its a bit central, I needed a wide angle :p
