Hi, this is one from a shoot I setup of a local runner who got his first GB vest. Bloody cold so it was splash and flash kind of shoot as the poor bloke was freezing! Got more to process but this is first out the batch...

Another shoot from last week, again pretty cold day so no time for faffing around....client was pleased with it so job done. He wanted a nice pic of his sexy TT bike!
Both done using my new Skyports which I just love...sooo much better than Nikon CLS

Nice strobe work Iain. 1st one is a cracker for it's timing. Well done!
Agree with the above ... the processing really makes the images stand out out ... such wonderfully saturated colours.
Nice work Iain  great things those flash units.

Cheers guys. The blown bit, tis a bit of lens flare. Its a high risk shot but worth it when it comes off.

No criticism from me old boy. Both great shots. I'll bet the subjects were well chuffed. Excellent.
I wonder if the guy in the shot is a good athlete or just now thinks the sun shines out of his A*$e..........
That's the first thing I thought too when I saw the picture.
Both are really impressive shots, the first especially for the timing.

The first shot is very 'ad campaign' for the likes of Nike, Adidas etc - great mood and you can just imagine some nifty strap lines on it for a trainer advert - top class
I love the first image, its amazing.
the 2nd image i love the lighting and i love the bike!!!!!!!!!

i also like the first one! good for movie covers. the effect of the light and the clouds on him made the package perfect!
I missed these. Stunning portraits Iain, great use of light!
On a side note, I was flicking through the February 08 edition of Digital Photo Pro and there was a Pentax advertorial featuring 'Scottish based sports professional Iain MacKintosh' testing the Pentax K10D on a cycling event - I presume that was you!

Hi Hacker...yes you got me , it was I.
They called me up out of the blue asking if I would like to give the Pentax a run through and write up an article, I had the cyclo cross champs on that weekend so said ok.
Carrying 3 cameras and equipment around muddy fields was fun....but it was a nice little paying job, even though they spelt my name wrong!
Floated a few ideas to them for another article, nothing def so just have to wait and see.

I have that issue, its now in a plastic bag like a marvel comic, awaiting a signature before it goes on ebay! I reckon it must be worth as much as Spiderman No.1..... :)

Writing up a piece was a new expirence, not really my thing at all, after reading the D300 review I should have payed you to write it mate!!!
