I would guess some kind of sparrow although I'm not very good on sparrows...Tree or House I think :)

2nd one is a male House Sparrer, the other two are are female House Sparrers.

House Sparrows are actually on the decline in some areas, so not to be sniffed at, and very characterful little birds I reckon.

Keep clicking and be patient, it can take ages for the word to get around Birdland where the cafe is at.;)

Spot on Cedric as ever ...

Might I be rude Gibbo and suggest you would be better off with Sunflower hearts in your feeders ... :suspect: ... the mix you have in there will result in a lot of waste and very likely an awful lot of seedlings underneath your feeders ...

Give 'em a choice too... I have a fat ball feeder, a couple of nut feeders and throw a mixed seed about in a couple of key places.

I never saw a Blue Tit until I put the fat balls out - suddenly it was Blue Tit City!

CT your not wrong the feeders have been up for a couple of months and I have only noticed the birdies feeding from them in the last couple of weeks, I have a nut one up and I have seen a black/white stripe type model of bird at it about the same size as the sparras but its much quicker in and land quick peck and off, I cant get a shot of that yet.... :|
Venomator yes you may be rude, but I have a large bag of that seed  so its getting used :D

Yes I also give them choice I too have FAT BALLS scattered in my trees but the Stripe thingy birdie and its family have that area stitched up. :bang:

Gibbo .Glad you are getting some action on the feeders  Also keep an eye out for the ground feeders. Sometimes you can get alot of variety feeding on the loose seed which has fallen on the floor

Hi Ladybird & Pikeman. Nice to here from you both I dont seem to be able to find these heart sunflower seeds I`ll keep looking.
Looks like I have fussy feeders :D spitting out my food cheek of it.....
Yes I have some birdies feed off them but getting a ballance between big birdies to the smaller ones who get bullied so I have a cunning plan and I have hung some of My Fat Balls off twigs where big birdies fall too heavy, they off cant feed off them so they move on (just to help the lill ones along)
as for a big un I have just got a 1.4tc to go with my 80-200 helps a little...... :bonk:

Anyway I have mooved on a little from my first NOT NATURE Watches where all I had was blurs and empty twigs, getting the hang of it a bit now just need a good shot to show for it all.... then move onto some thing else flowers perhaps, maybe macro

I have a solution for all those seeds the birds discard - get some chickens! Mine visit the area beneath the bird feeders a few times a day and clean up what everyone else has discarded
