preferably free :D I've been using smartFTP but don't care for the changes they've implemented in the latest update. Tried Filezilla and don't really like it either so what else do folk use?

I use Globalscape Cuteftp (http://www.globalscape.com/cuteftp/). Absolutely superb imo. It's not free but I didn't mind paying for it once I found how good it was :) I use the Pro version at work too ;)

You could try Leech FTP. It's free and easy to use, although I prefer WS-FTP Lite. Not sure if the latter is still available as a free download now.

Leech FTP is at http://www.snapfiles.com/get/leechftp.html

I use Core FTP lite which is free. It does what I need it to but it's all I've ever used so I couldn't offer a fair comparison with anything else.

Ta for the replies folks, I'll give those others a try later.

Lee, 2.5 was what I was using, then it came up with a message saying I had to upgrade, the programme stopped working and had to go for Ver 3.0. :(

just doing a batch with Core FTP just now, nice and straightforward but very basic, supppose you can't ask for too much being free :)

I'll have a look at that later DF.

Core FTP lite, easy to use and shifts the files from A to B which is all I want it to do!

DirectFTP (Coffeecup (http://www.coffeecup.com/)). Not free, but you get what you pay for (or don't).

I have used DirectFTP for about five years and always found it excellent.

Coffeecup is what I've used in the past. Pretty basic - but that's just what I need to even think abut this stuff.

CLICKY (http://www.coffeecup.com/free-ftp/)

Just seen JBs post - so it's no longer free then?

FileZilla FTW!

I've been using it for more than a year (well, a few years, possibly) and it has served me very well.

I've been using SmartFTP for ages now. But am tempted with a return to CuteFPT, as you can create your sites, and have them appear on the Windows "Context Menu" - In Explorer, right-click a file you want to upload, and it will upload to the site of your choice - rather than have to start cuteftp, etc. A very nice feature.

I use Flash FTP and I find it's the best FTP client I've used. I lost faith with CuteFTP in it's later versions, and other clients never really impressed me much.

WS at work, Filezilla at home, but I'll give FireFTP a go, I reckon.

Loads of options then :) Was in a hurry for another set so set up FireFTP. First impressions are it's quick, easy, unobtrusive and does what needs to be done. Also going to try a couple of the others so if I get time I might even do a mini review.
