Guys - Taking some shots of a Breakfast club meet at the Ace Cafe (North Circ) this weekend, wondered if you had any tips or inspiration for me?
I have been there a couple of times before but never with cars. This is not a 50's rocker or chavved up corsa meet, just some regular guys and reguklar cars.
Any ideas??
Its at 7AM so a pair of gloves might be in order!!
I have a D80 and 18-135 along with the nifty fifty F1.8.
Thanks in advance
In tight spaces (like at ace cafe) I prefer to get shots right in close at a nice wide angle.
Get nice and low to make the cars look as big and powerful as possible. Try playing around with the DOF.
Hope this helps you.

Thanks mate - so go for the 18-135 fully open or try the nifty fifty and play with a shallow DOF?
erm, i've never used a nifty fifty so cant help there, try both lenses. i am stuck with the kit lense 18-55mm so dont know any better.

I would say the 50 would do good and you will certainly have plenty room on the DoF front with it ... ;) ... but you might want to experiment with the wide end of your kit lens ...
:p
I've done quite a few shoots at the Ace. One of the best views is to get the cars parked up outside the front of the building and get the building with the "ace" logo in the shot.
I have one somewhere that I'll dig out

Its a breakfast club meet on Saturday called the cockneys breakfast club, google it as I am not sure that linking to it here would be allowed?

Cant do this weekend but see from their website it seems to be a monthly thing so maybe later in the year...if the weather gets warmer at weekends!
You can get some good stuff from the roof if they'll let you up there. Well worth putting on your most official face and asking. :D
