While it looks like an interesting subject, that fence really ruins any chance of a decent photo. Exposure and processing of the shots is spot on though.

yeah i know its such a shame about the fence i suppose its there to protect it as there is graffiti scratched into the stone from the 1800 looks really old it also dont help being on a hill. thanx bumph

I would mirror the thoughts given by Bumph and would note the following;

The subject is placed absolutely bang in the middle of the picture. This has the effect of "neutralising" the subject and only works when you have a an extremely arresting subject.

The light is harsh. Avoid this time of day if you have a subject that would benefit from the modelling a diffused or low-angled light would give.
