There seems to be lots of squirrels on threads lately so I thought I might share these shots my mate took the other day with his point and shoot. Cracked me up..........

they are awesome pictures!!! youve done better with a wild animal than I can with my pet dog :D

I'd just like to emphasise that these are my mates - not mine. He just took a bag of nuts down to the park and they were all over him. Squirrels are a bit of a novelty to us New Zealanders

how did you get such a wide DOF with such a small and close subject?

I dont think he did anything special. Just whipped it out and fired away. The fact that it was an average camera probably helped him out. Not the quality of the shots that matters though in this case.

Small POS have long depth of field compared to DSLRs.
