I cannot imagine you will be dissapointed sue, I had a 100-400 before this but always had doubts about its sharpness and used it at 400mm most of the time, so the 400 prime seemed the logical solution .
Thinking about the 600mm f4 now..;) had a price off kerso just need to win the lottery now.

Did not see your second pic before, great pic of a Ruff. Rumours are of a 400mm prime with IS coming soon.

yes i have heard that , i wouldnt swap mine for one but if i could get a 400mm 2.8 for the same price i might consider it .
i am holding back to see what the iQ is like on the sigma 150 -500 os i could be tempted by that

i have a camo waterproof tarpulin i lay on then surround my tripod and gimbal flask rucksack with a blind and chuck a leaf cut scrim over the lot..i find keeping low as poss is better
the redshank was about 15 ft away i think
