The much maligned Starling, if these were rare people would travel miles to see them.
They have fantastic plumage and are great mimics, got one outside my house does a cracking curlew impression.

It's a little softer than usual as it was taken through glass with some ugly reflections in it at the time (me!!), and by the look of the image on here I might have oversharpened a little... hmmm... I only set the smartsharpen amount to 25 which is usually not enough to cause this effect.
Ho hum...

Like you - I admire the starlings which arrive like a gang of hoodies, colourful, changing in the varying lighting conditions and guaranteed to make a good job of tidying up the table - even if they do manage to scatter most of the seed for the chaffinches, dunnocks, doves and pheasant waiting below!
