Not that good really, bits to crop etc etc... Will take me some time to get to grips with the lights, but hey, its all a learning curve :) The first seems to have lost a lot of quality being shrunk down as well :(

2nd one is much better, his left arm is distracting though. Like the eye contact above the glasses.
1st one looks soft and the WB is off imo......don't like the crop either :)
You got your hotshoe thingy then.
The first pic needs the wb to be sorted unless the background was that colour, but he looks a bit pink on the forehead to.
Look forward to seeing the next bunch :)
agree with all above comments
how are you lighting the backdrop.. to get the pure white look you need to lights it seperatly

When starting out everyone should use only 1 light to light the subject - learn how to use one, then introduce more if & when you think they are needed later. Your avatar is a nice example of using one frontal light, and that harsh lights can work well on females too
2 frontal lights are common in shopping-centre photo booth type things - and it's a rubbish unnatural look IMO
Better, as MD says, to use from Key-light and the other on the background - certainly for white, but gels etc. can give a whole host of background colours
Oh, and remember to set your WB to 'flash'
WB to flash? Didnt think of that, thanks
Thanks for the other advice too :)
