Agh, my new 40D died today! :gag: :bonk: :bang:
I was grabbing shots of a *edit* chaffinch that was peering through the window at me when the camera just died!
Only got it Friday!
I've requested a return from the supplier I got it from, so I hope they are helpful and send me a new one ASAP!
Oh and here is the little chap before my camera died. :D

Terrible news. I would be gutted.
Chaffinch btw.
Yes....lovely cock chaffinch. What has actually happened to the 40d, Andy? ... did it just turn off or what?
Yep -male Chaffinch. Bummer Andy! Have you done all the obvious checks battery etc?

Heh, Chaffinch.... ah well
Yup, just switched off, dead. Took the battery grip off, used my wife' 20D battery, swapped cf cards etc etc. Nothing!
Mate, i really feel for you.
Hope it all gets sorted real soon.
Dean:)
Actually, now i look at him, that Chaff looks a bit evil, maybe he zapped it with his laserbeam eyes.

Me too! I played with my 400D afterwards and it didn't feel the same anymore!
The bird is a nutter, it keeps attacking the window! I'm guessing it can see its reflection and is defending its territory!
There is also a pair of Blackbirds setting up their nest in a bush near to this window and my guess is the Chaffinch is abit upset about it!

I have birds nesting in a bush next to my parking space, and they have decided that my car's door mirror is the perfect place to perch and have a poo, all over my door. Every day now the shiny blue door looks like someone has chucked a gallon of white/green/brown paint all over it.
But they also seem to be pecking at their reflections. Apparently attaching a plastic bag to the mirror will stop them, haven't tried it yet. Either that or I am buying myself a decoy hawk....

Spoke to the supplier and they have given me a return authorisation and I returned the camera by RMSD today. They said I should have a replacement on Thursday :woot:
It cost £21.45 to send :gag: but the supplier are refunding me £10 even though their T&C state returns are at customer expense!
So far so good. If I get it by Thursday then I will be a very happy bunny.

Thats a joke! For a faulty item they should stand all the postage IMO.

ABC Digital Cameras.
To be honest they are pretty good. I received the original camera next day, free delivery where most others at a similar price were charging for delivery. I'd read a couple of reviews about them and all were positive so I gave them a try.
yuo'd think that becuae your forking out quite a bit of mooola, that they'd throw in free brown nosing service, wouldnt ya?
