I love Edinburgh, due to the bizarre timing of the snow, I was able to capture these mid afternoon...

Nice collection there m8 - and this probably sounds like a daft criticism, but that solid black border bleeds into some of the images that have darker edges to them (especially 2). I use big black/white borders all the time but find a little contrast works best as in...
Here I'd have used something like - 1mm black, 1mm grey/white, then 3cm black. The 1st black line defines the edges of the picture in lighter/coloured sections; the grey/white stops any bleed into the bigger black border
Feel free to say you think I'm talking crap

Nice pics Gary though I'm not too sure about the thick border. Is the second one Loganlea Reservoir ?

Thanks guys, will bear it in mind RE border. Not sure what the exact place name is. You access this from the flotterstone inn if that helps??
Gary.
Fab stuff Gary, always have a good look at your pics because I love them!
I did notice No2 is slightly squinty though, it looks much better if you level the water at either side.
Love No5, that's my fave.

Yeah that's right Gary, it will be Loganlea then, thought I recognised it, I've fished it a few times. I think your allowed to take the car right up there. it's a nice walk up in decent weather. The road eventually takes you all the way to Balerno but not sure how far you can go by car though, also told theres some nice photo opportunities along the way but never went as far myself.

Great landscapes - really like #5, lovely rich colours
I do agree about the black border, it is a bit overwhelming - but lovely pics :)

Border sitrep!!
I have created a CSS style on my site to automatically place a border around my images. You can see the new border here:
http://www.scottishsnaps.co.uk/PhotoBrowser.aspx?Category=Landscapes%20and%20Scen ery&Order=Desc
The down side is, I will still need to add a border when I post images here, as the system won't allow HTML I believe?
Thanks for the tips earlier yesterday, I will definately keep my borders smaller from now on!!
Gary.
Great shots Gary, really shows our landscape off well :) I'd love to see hi res copys would look excellent on someones wall.
