Filter Size for Canon Kit Lens

Hi,

How do I tell what size filter I need for the standard Canon EFS 18-55 Kit Lens (want to buy a polarizing filter).

Searching on here I *think* it's 58mm. Is this right?

Yup, lenses usually have the thread size on them

Look for a circle through a line on it like this

Ahh I see. I was looking at this yesterday and thought it was something to do with the minimum focus distance :shrug:

Now I know otherwise!
