Converting RAW files

Hi
Please can someone help. I am completely stuck. Having read so much about shooting in raw I thought I would give it a go. Now I have come to open my photos and realised that I don't know how to do to open them:bonk: I have a Nikon D40 and use Photoshop 7, but also have Adobe ImageReady (whatever that is?).

If anyone can give me advice that would be great. I am sure this has probably been answered a million times before in other threads, but I did a search and couldn't find anything that can help me out of my hole I have dug for myself!

Download and use it to browse your Memory card, edit your raw files and convert to another file format once finished editing.
