Panning Perhaps?

Ok, so I done a bit of panning on the Border Counties.

I'm assuming I've got some camera shake issues.

Have a look at these and let me know what you think.

Given that, that is sharp, I don't think its a focus issue?

Is it because the car is going in too many different directions? I.e. has it bounced or come closer at the front or whatever?

That one is at 1/100th at f8 so the depth of field should surely not be that shallow?

You will find that at slower shutter speeds getting everything in focus is quite often impossible because different parts of the subject are moving in different directions at different rates. This is a common problem, in particular with bikes, as the rider may be moving position and the tail unit is usually vibrating! The trick is to get focus on the right parts.:D

The front is soft due to the car bouncing around, there wouldnt be part of the photo sharp if it was due to camera shake.

Getting a good sharp pan is a fine balancing act of going slow enough to get motion blur but fast enough to keep the subject area sharp.

Did you aim to focus on the nearest headlight?

I think it is a really good shot:clap:,dead right shutter speed for action and blur on wheels,sharp enough ,but just focussed on rear of car not front.
