View Full Version : Herts Studio, Round II
Following the success of the recent “Meet & Shoot” at the Digital Depot studio in Stevenage, I have arranged for another session on Sunday 18th May.
This session will be limited to 6 photographers. I expect myself & my brother to hold two of the places, and as Fraggle101 organised the previous session, and I’d like to give him the first refusal. That means that there are currently 3 slots open, so the first to confirm their availability will get them.
Please DON’T take a slot if you can’t make it. I’m currently talking to the guys at DD to see if we can make this a regular fixture, so hopefully everybody will get their chance.
The Studio is very well equipped, with 4 good quality flash units available, a number of backgrounds, coloured gels for the background lights, and some furniture is also available. The Studio is £120 for the day on Sunday, so that’s £20 a piece for 6 of us. Not bad for a full sized studio, with assistance and of course, the “club” shop is next door, should you need anything.
I’m working on models, I expect that Jo will be with us again, I have had a male model ask if I can do some work with him, and I hope to have a couple of others as well.
PM me if you’re interested, and I’ll publish the list here, and I’ll also keep a couple of people on the “reserve” list in case we have somebody pull out before the date.
Hopefully we can get this to be a regular thing, maybe every 4-6 weeks or so.

My "Bro" has pulled out, so there's 4 places up for grabs (5 if Tony decides not to come...)

After a PM from LKavaney, all 6 places are now filled.
However I'm quite happy to run a "reserve list" of 2 or 3 people in case anybody has a problem making it.

As an update...
Models:
Jo is available, plus a couple of local girls. I have been contacted by a model based in Scotland but who has friends in Stevenage, and a male model fairly local to me as well.
Most of them have asked about "Themes". So we need some ideas. I like the sound of an "Urban" shoot, but what say the rest of you ?

Although I'm unable to attend. I may have a MUA that is interested for TFP/CD. She is away at the moment, so I'm not able to confirm yet for you. Should you decide you want a MUA that is.

The theme(s) are open to discussion, urban was just one idea I had. There's 6 of us attending so we should discuss what each of us wants.
And please don't forget that as we're doing this on a TFP/CD basis with the models, their requests are also important.
Nathan had mention that he may have a MUA that would be interested in working with us, which is why I commented that one may be available.
We have 6 photographers and 6 1/2 hours of studio time (09:30-16:00) so I'm sure we can fit more than one theme into the day.
Discuss.....
From my point of view I'm quite flexible on themes as studio work is fairly new to me.
Do we have any requests from the models at this time?
As a matter of interest what does MUA stand for ?

OK people,
We have 4 confirmed models, 3 female, 1 male, plus a make up artist.
I'll drop everybody a PM with the models profiles and confirm start times etc.
It's been hard work getting the models, and I have to thank Tony for helping.
Why do people say yes, when they know thy can't actually make the day. Why do models ask "where and what date" when I put that in the original request..... :bang:
It can be more stressful than work at times. Still, it's all organised and we'll have a grand day.....

Steve.. thats what models do!! they ALL do it!! so it seems anyway.. :shrug: iv had the same.. the trouble is that MM isnt a REAL agency.. so you dont often get REAL models.. the good ones have a head on thier shoulders and arnt as dumb as thier made out to be!! one day we'll be in a position to get the good un's!! :thumbs:

Yep we have a "full round" as of 11:30 this morning. Jim who was 1st on the back up list has taken one place as we had somebody drop out.

Jelster, well done mate.. it was a success.. even if there were a few no-shows..
It was a day well worth the money, as a first I'm happy with about 85% of the images!
Er Fraggle, shall we run away to uban decay together!!
The images with the gels turn out pretty good as well. B*****y LCD does my head in!;)

Hi,
Just wanted to say thanks to Jelster for the day and all the hard work and organisation he put into it. Fraggle and Treesie, it was great to meet you. Thanks to the models for giving up their time and Martin for his words of advice.
I would love to do it again, but I must remember to communicate with the models more. I have some duff shots becaueI hadn't directed them properly.
I will post some photos tomorrow, once I have had time to go through them again.
