Another steam special past the village yesterday looked as if we would get soaked but the shower went the other way and this guy came with a good head of steam...

Not as for to travel to catch em either Pete it was just North of Darlington Bill on the East Coast main line.

Great to see this engine back up and running again. You've exposed it well - dark trains against overcast skies can be a challenge!

any idea which train went through Staines last Friday lunch time?
It was the same as the Mallard but Green. Was a really nice suprise as i was driving through and saw it go over a bridge. It was lit in bright sunshine with a thunder cloud behind it, I was so annoyed i didnt have a camera with me. In fact if i'd known about it I'd have been on about it.

I think it was probably Bittern. Saw it on the East Coast Mainline last week heading south...
