View Full Version : Recent downtime this afternoon

Yup, seems the site went down for a short period this evening.

I'm glad to say, we're now back up and running at full speed

We have a fair idea what has caused it, but we don't want to say yet ;)
If there are any glitches, then please just pop them in this thread and I'll look at them as soon as I can.

Thanks for all the MSN messages, IRC guests, and SMS messages too, letting me know it was poorly. It's much appreciated, and it's nice to know so many people care

If you visited another forum while we were down, please line up this way for a good spanking.......You first minimeeze.

:)

I'd also like to offer a big thanks to Tim, the monkey tickler at GlobalGold, our hosts. As soon as he was aware, he was on it like dellipher on a smutty thread

when uploading i get an error message 127?

Marcel
14-04-2008, 20:15
hehe.

There are a couple of things Im still tinkering with, the main one being the gallery upload (I know exactly what's causing it, just want to check something before I flick a switch to stop it).

Any other problems?

When I click on my forums tab for TP I get this,

Not Found

The requested URL /forums/ was not found on this server.
Apache/2.2.8 (Fedora) Server at 195.177.193.138 Port 80

But clicking on the tab for classifieds is ok.

The last couple of days, I've had to log in almost every time I've fired up TP. I figured it was a Firefox/cookie problem, but mebbe not?

if you have anything hosted in the gallery and linkin back to your sigs etc then you may need to redo your sig...and before anyone says it, it wasnt me!

Marcel
14-04-2008, 20:33
Ahh I think you *were* using the IP address Galaxy, that's not running at the moment (browsing via IP address).

Best to use the domain name anyway, that way if anything changes, you wont get interrupted service.

Brash, your signature's now sorted. It was linked from the IP address.

This is the main thing that's going to cause upsets at the moment (besides the uploading issue).

Make sure all links and bookmarks are www.talkphotography.co.uk, not http://195.177.193.138/

Not a problem as such, but now when I click on "new posts" I get 250 posts, before I only got 150....

So that's a good thing!! Now all you need to do is change that to say, 1000 and I am all good.... (Sometimes I don't get to access the site for a couple of days)

Marcel

It should have been working. It was yesterday (the uploading). I'll go check now.

Marcel
16-04-2008, 11:05
Nope, just uploaded a shot

http://www.talkphotography.co.uk/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=31365

Seems to be working fine?

As for last nights dropouts, I'm not sure what caused those. I'll see if there's anything untoward in the logs.

your DNS '@' A record is wrong, you've only got the 'www' configured.

ie. http://www.talkphotography.co.uk works, but http://talkphotography.co.uk does not.
