Now I have hunted for ages on the net trying to find what this is, it was about 4-5mm long and near my pond

Looks a little like a Damsel or Dragonfly but it has antennae

And finally one of my favourite subjects Wasps, sorry about the dust

As already stated - great collection with a couple of stunning pic's of the wasp . Not sure I'd like to be that closeup and personal with the wasp though:eek:

Again I had a funny idea you would know what it was, your head must be like an insect encylopedia and i'm slowly learning them, many thanks:D

Thanks
These were all taken with the Canon MP-E65
I still haven't sent it back for repair, I just can't be parted from it :).

These were done using the MT24 ringflash with my homemade paper box diffusers, I have been doing quite a bit of playing around with different diffusers on the flash because the light from it is quite harsh, it's quite an improvement but still not right yet.

Did you find out what number 2 was yet? I have seen hundreds on a particular fence where I work, over the last few days they have been walking about. Nowhere near water though! Love to know what they are.

TBH I haven't had the time to research it, but I have an idea they are something related to apple tree pests, when I get a chance I will ask our local apple orchard owner.
