How do I produce an animated GIF so that I can show a before and after PS technique?

I am not great at 'puter language so I need as many tips and tutorials as poss please.

I have used Adobe Fireworks but to be honest I find it very hard work.

We allow animated gifs in posts, but not in avatars or signatures.

You can use ImageReady which is good or you can find free animated gif makers on Google.

...or Photoshop CS2 or 3 will do the job.

It'll do the job, but might help if someone offered instructions?

ImageReady comes with Photoshop. Use that, have your images in a folder, named in sequence to make it easier, and choose import->folder as frames, then play about with the frame settings for each image and then save it as a gif.
