I wanted to make this one look a bit like a very old painting, I'm quite pleased with it but would really like other peoples opinions on it.

This is more of a taste question than a technical question, I suppose. I personally don't like it. It's a nice shot of a cute model (minus the blown highlight on the face), but I'd prefer a regular black and white conversion.

Any chance of seeing the original to compare to? I'm not sure I like the overall look, but as stated above, it is very much a taste question.

It's a lovely shot the pose is wonderful and I can see what you are trying to achieve. Perhaps if you tone down the highlights that spoil her forehead and central facial features it might work.

There are so many versions you could take from this beautiful image of a pretty girl.

I have altered one into B&W and see that there is plenty tonal information in the face - which is not obvious in either of your first two versions. Although this appealed to me with time I would probably work on a colour version as that would be more flattering to the girl but this version demonstrates how much information is there:

Now thats a really nice version, how did you get to that result?

I took your second colour image and applied a curves layer which I set of enhance individual channel contrast. Then a channel mixer layer to get to the B&W finish and another curves layer on top to tweak the image to get most detail.

I then burnt in round the left edge to reduce the impact of the wall which was distracting me.

Thats it.
