Hi all

Having been inspired this morning my a throw-away comment from Petemc about water images on Pixy's delightful 'Waterdrops' thread - I decided to have a go myself

Not done this sort of thing before, so I went for the easiest of options...

Stuck a small (shot) glass under a running tap, white cardboard up against the wall and off camera flash from an SB800. The flash was actually held right next to the glass and bounced back from the white card some 6 inches away. Easy peasie in the digital age I guess, but I like it anyway

Oh - and the glass is on 'loan' (cough) from a famous restaurant - anyone know it ???

All C&C welcome - cheers

Loving your monitor's quality too MD - it already HAS got a hint of blue -

And yes, I've had lunch there quite a few times - if your guess is on Regent Street, I think you'll have it

Keep, stum babes - but just remember how old you were just before your 20th birthday as a hint of an 'appropriate mark' !!! :naughty::naughty::naughty:

You can probably afford a set of 'Extension Tubes' though?

These fit between your camera and lens making any lens focus a lot closer than otherwise, and can in effect turn a standard lens into a macro

These are a great, and pretty cheap, way of seeing if 'Macro' is really something you'd like to get into rather than throw £300 at a lens and discover it's not for you

And thanks, glad to inspire someone

Strange comment Adele - you know you can have my 90mm any time you want, in fact, you can have any length of mine as needed. I even have one that 'grows' from 70mm to 200mm, and it's thick & solid too

:naughty::naughty::naughty:

Okay - here's a hint as to the restaurant in question then...

This is a 3 shot sequence taken about 1/5th sec apart - those bubbles move alot in a very short space of time !!!

And it was a 'pressie' from a waiter there on our 3rd (I think) anniversary - some 17 years ago !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nice effect on the water, it looks reminiscent of mercury...

Yep - my wife & I thought so too as the single glass shot I have as a borderless A3 print, which makes the image about 15x lifesize !!!

And the bubbles do look very metallic

D I prefer the single glass shot to the three....but can see how the three would be saleable! :)

The 3 is actually my version of a sort of 'Business Card' that I've seen some hotels/restaurants using - the reverse is simply the address & contact details

This is supposed to be clean & posh looking

That'll be an 18 then Adele !!!
