Cannot find RAW setting on EOS 400D

Hi all, first post on the forum, hopefully not my last.

I am a begginner with photography and have invested in a Canon EOS 400D, very impressed so far but!

When I go to set the image quality it for some reason does not show RAW or RAW + JPG. I just cannot find when to get this setting can anyone help very frustrating :bang:

RAW will only be available in certain modes M, Av, Tv etc..

In Basic Zone modes, the RAW quality modes aren't displayed, just like namllihs says.
See page 158 of the user's manual for details.

Start off with Av mode where you choose the aperture (try a few different aperture settings on the same shot to see the difference it makes) and the camera chooses the shutter speed.
