Just ordered this lens from Fotosense:

http://www.fotosense.co.uk/shop_details.asp?productID=1579&productName=Tamron_AF_28-200mm_Super_Zoom_f3.8-5.6_Aspherical_(IF)_Macro_1:4__(_3_MOUNTS)

Anyone got one and what do you think of it?
Maybe I should have asked before I ordered it

You should be buying nappies and talcum powder :D . Back to topic - I don't know that one but a look on Tamron's site suggests that it's very similar to my Tamron AF 18-200 mm F3.5 - F6.3 Di-II. As far as I can see the main difference is that mine is digital only where as yours can be used with film as well

Anyway, it will be well built, sharp images although soft as you get to 180+. I think it's an excellent all purpose, walkabout lens. I don't think you'll regret it.

Is this the same one:

Fredmiranda.com (http://www.fredmiranda.com/reviews/showproduct.php?product=253&sort=7&cat=43&page=1)

If so it seems to get a good rating.

I don't know if anyone else does this, but when looking for a lens, I like to see what other people have managed to shoot with it, so I go to Pbase and do a search for images using it.

I've got the 28-300 version & I'm very happy with it . It gets a bit soft at 300mm but yours shouldn't do that ..............

Ps Congrats on the new arrival :)
