Hi all,
These two were taken the first time I took out my new camera, a Samsung GX-10.
I am completely new to using a DSLR and its clear that I have a lot to learn. The Shots are straight from the camera unedited but I am really pleased with them.
Any comments, tips and pionters welcome!
Thanks
Rob

I like the dog, it's well exposed, which is difficult with a black & white animal... trust me I've been trying today :D
It does look a touch on the dull side, could do with a brighten, at least on my monitor :)
They look pretty good for a 1st attempt to me
I think that a wider or tighter crop on the dog might help though
and the horizon in #1 is sloping way to the left
but the're all things that will come together with time and practice.
Good shots well done. keep up the good work.

Thanks for all the comments etc.
I have had a quick go on the editing software that came with the cam and lightened up the pic of Mac (the dog!). I have yet to get a decent bit of software and get used to editing pictures.
I also agree about the horizon sloping in the horses picture now you have pointed it out, something to watch for in the future!
Thanks!

Don't worry too much about it, its something that I used to do all the time
and never noticed either 'till it was pointed out to me. Now I only do it now and again (hopefully :D)
It will come with practice

Second one of Mac looks better, perhaps more of his body would have looked better? Thats just my opinion though.....:D
Horses don`t really "do it" for me i`m afraid, so I can`t pass comment.
Keep practising, it gets easier the more do, well it did for me.....
Thought it was a good shot anyway, but now you have touched up Mac, it's a cracker...
Well done

Both great shots
I like that you've caught the 'catch-light' in the dogs eyes (a must!).
As said, watch your horizons. I do it all the time, but its easily put right with software, so don't worry too much.
Good effort. Keep posting
